So, what is "Rebuilding Calistoga"?
Rebuilding Calistoga is a volunteer program under the sponsorship of CAH that repairs the homes of elderly and disabled citizens who are either low-income and/or physically challenged so they may live in warmth, safety, and independence. Rebuilding Calistoga was started in 2010 with a two week event that culminated in a celebration of the 150 volunteers and 32 homeowners who were responsible for the program's success. Rebuilding Calistoga is expanding to a year round program although its main event will still be held in April (April 20 and 28, 2013) with rebuilding volunteers choosing to work one or two days and everyone joining in for the end-of-event appreciation celebration on the afternoon of April 28th. We need volunteers of all skill levels so please print the volunteer form and send it in! Click here to download your VOLUNTEER FORM.
Rebuilding Calistoga relies on the community for support. Volunteers provide the labor for the repairs as well as organizing the event. Thanks to Opus One and Pacific Union College for sending us your volunteers. Local funding support comes from the Bank of the West, City of Calistoga, Gasser Foundation, Home Depot, Auction Napa Valley and Sterling Vineyards. Thanks to the Calistoga Soroptimists for making lunches! The success of Rebuilding Calistoga is due to our partnerships within the community including StopFalls Napa Valley, California Human Development Corporation, and PG&E.
Rebuilding Calistoga restores tired neighborhoods and the homeowner’s pride and dignity as well as Community wellbeing. Rebuilding Calistoga is neighbors helping neighbors...people helping people.
